If your color looks terrible and there is no brown background texture, then your computer is probably set to 256 colors or 16 colors, instead of 16 or 24 bit color. You need to change this...and not just to view our Website. This will make everything look better!

For Windows 95,98,ME, or 2000, or XP, right click anywhere on the desktop. Left click on properties. Left click on the settings tab. In the color palette select 16 bit or 24 bit color. You may also change the number of pixels on the desktop area. We like 1024 x 768, but others find that hard to read. Experiment! After you've made your selections, click OK. By the way, many of the photos in our site look better in 24 bit color than 16 bit. You paid for that capability....why not try it out?

You may or may not need to reboot the computer before the changes will go into effect...probably not.

Even if you have Windows set up correctly, it is still possible that your monitor needs to be calibrated. Sorry, but we'll have to refer you to your owner's manual on that.

For Mac: In Control Panels folder in the Apple Menu, open the "Monitor" or "Monitors and Sound" control panel. Under the text "Color Depth", choose the highest number listed. Repeat for screen resolution under the text "Resolution".
